Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-16
This page explains what personal data the mobile game Pirateria collects, why it uses it and what your rights are. By playing the game you accept what this policy describes.
Who is responsible
Pirateria is run by Berkan Yıldırım. For any question or request about your data: berkanyldrim@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account: your e-mail address, captain name, the game's language and your password. Your password is kept only as a one-way hash; not even we can read it.
- Game: your city, buildings, ships, voyages and battle reports, your Brotherhood membership, the messages you write in chat, your Black Market offers, the captains you block and the reports you make.
- Pictures you put up: the pictures you upload as a premium captain's flag or a Brotherhood's emblem. The server scales and re-encodes them; extra information in the picture (such as location) is not kept.
- Purchases: the store's order or transaction number, the product and when you bought it. Your payment details (such as your card) stay with Google Play or the App Store; they never reach us.
- Device: your device's notification token, its platform (Android or iOS), its language and its time offset, for quiet hours.
- Usage: when you last played. Our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
We show no ads, sell no data and use no advertising or tracking analytics.
What we use it for
- Running the game: keeping your account, your city and everything you play with other captains on the server (performance of our contract with you).
- Protecting your account: sending e-mail verification and password reset codes.
- Notifications: telling you of attacks, constructions and Brotherhood news, as your phone allows and your settings in the game choose.
- Purchases: granting premium, checking it with the store and taking it back after a refund.
- Protecting the community: reviewing reports, muting in chat and taking down unfit pictures (legitimate interest).
Who sees it
- Other players: your captain name, city, Infamy, Brotherhood, chat messages, flag and your Brotherhood's emblem. No one sees your e-mail address.
- Service providers: the company hosting our servers, the service sending our e-mails, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) for notifications, and Google Play and the Apple App Store for purchases. Each handles the data only to provide that service; some may process it outside your country.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account data until you delete your account. When you do, your captain, city, ships, offers, purchase records, device tokens and sessions are deleted at once.
- The messages you wrote in chat stay under your captain name, so that conversations keep their sense. An emblem you put up for your Brotherhood stays as long as the Brotherhood does.
- Sessions expire after 90 days, e-mailed codes after 30 minutes.
- Copies in backups disappear as the backups are replaced.
Your rights
You may ask to see your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its processing and to receive a copy of it (GDPR and similar laws). You can delete your account yourself in the game under Captain → Delete account; for anything else, write to us. You may also complain to the data protection authority of your country. About deleting your account.
Children
Pirateria is not meant for children under 13. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it.
Security
The app talks to the server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are kept as hashes and only the operator can enter the admin panel. No system is perfectly secure; should there be a breach, we report it as the law requires.
Changes
When we change this policy we update this page and the date above, and announce important changes in the game.
